how do i work out which xud9..... engine i have in my m reg 405 1.9td??

In the back of the 405 owners handbook in the technical section it shows a table with the 3 figure engine codes in using the cars VIN number.
3 letters of the VIN number give the engine code.
VF should be the first 2 letters, then 2 numbers most likely 34, then there should be 3 or 4 letters, Those are the ones you need.
