xantia estate spheres

Unread post by neil »

How can I tell if my old tank has an anti sink sphere? The reason is that on the spares catalogue attached to this forum, they list an anti-sink sphere, and a rear middle sphere. My old bus had a spot of laziness in the morning (she didn't want to lift her rear end). On taking advice from the local guru, I replaced the rear height corrector after a few attempts to free it off sufficiently for it to work. I have also replaced the LHM and cleaned the filters. I read on a previous thread that if the rear drops on start up then raises then the anti-sink is u/s. Mine does this. Does this mean that she has this feature? If this sphere is u/s, does the car sit lower at the rear, or does it just take a little longer to lift it's ass?
By the way she is a late 96 model 1.9td lx estate.
She ain't as comfy or frugal as my old 187,000 mile bx tzd, but she's getting there. But then again she doesn't eat pipes!!

A '96 LX model will have an anti-sink but no centre sphere.
Centre sphere's are fitted to hydractive models, which in the UK are VSX and Exclusive trim level.
Anti sink was introduced in '95 I think, it was either before the estate or at the same time.

If you look underneath at the back, you'll see it - (if it's there). It's in the centre, about 300mm's forward from the spare wheel. PS: I agree, Zantias are nowhere near as comfortable as BXTZD's.
