N S F DRIVESHAFT

Unread post by WELSHVIKING »

Hi, Just had a service done on my xantia 1.9 td inc glowplugs and timing belts / tensioners etc etc . The only major thing that was found was a noisy nsf driveshaft , i thought it was the wheel bearing but the mechanic checked all wheel bearings and tracked it down to the nsf driveshaft....The question is what type of price am i looking for a new or reconditioned nsf driveshaft.....anyone know of a good supplier who is not well over the top for price...................Thanks Colin

Strange for a Xantia Drive shaft to cause problems... I may be brave saying this.. Xantia TD driveshafts are useually quite tough stuff. I would certainly try a second hand one on the car if it was cheap enough..

Incidentally, WELSHVIKING, I've just broken an L reg Xantia, 128k, both drive shafts with ABS rings are available.. Its up to you though.

I am in agreement there, unless they have been run greaseless for a while they are very tough indeed. A secondhand one ought to be fine provided the rubber is in good condition.
