its just getting stoopid now.
there i am slowing down for some traffic lights & the car stalls.. B*****D.
Wont start, ring Green Flag, they send out a guy ,he said ignition coil shafted, tows me to a garage.
Now the garage have changed the coil & it still wont work... They kep ringing me up to ask me stuff.. like has it got an imoboliser fitted? NO IT HASNT! AGHGHGHHH
Does anyone have any ideas for these inept mechanics??

Does your AX have later style ECU for engine management - including ignition & fuelling ?
If so - then your engine may have a TDC ignition sensor - which may suddenly interrupt in it's coil or cable/connector.
If NOT - then large chances are that is has the "old" style ignition distributor with ignition module.
The ignition module is a 7pole flat electronic device - if fitted near a round ignition coil on firewall.
If fitted on the distributor housing - it's a 5pole (3 + 2) flat electronic device.
Either type - these electronic ignition modules have a nasty habit of suddenly suicide - leaving a dead engine (no spark) as a result.
