Xantia exterior temp sensor

Folks, when I start my Xantia the outside temp seems totally believable, however after driving, it goes up by many degrees

kinda defeats the object..

any thoughts?

getting warm from engine I would guess...

The sensor, if the same as the XM is in the bottom of the passenger side mirror, they fail for a pastime, but the usual symptoms are a negative temperature display, so could be the display itself.

Being in the door mirror they are affected by sunlight if that side of the car is facing the sun and the heated mirror if you have the rear screen demist on.

ahh...

I changed the door recently and wondered what that small device was!

That was going to be another question..

The temp display wouldn't read for a few days, now its back I think it must be the rear screen causing it to heat up...
