306 Wind Screen Washer

Unread post by CICA »

Hi Folks,

I was hoping some of you guys could shed some light on this one for me. On the last two 306's I've had (95 XND and 99 HDi) the passenger side wind screen washer seems to eventually stop working. (I am currently driving the 99 HDi)

I have tried clearing the spray holes with a small pin but to no avail. When I try spraying the washers, water seems to emerge from under the small washer unit on the passenger side. So to me this means that water is coming to it ok. My car is up for an MOT on Saturday and I don't want it failing on this petty issue. Have any of you guys seen this problem before and can offer advice on how to fix it?
Thanks...

Not adapt to Peugeots but is it possible to take off the rubber hose and come in to the washer with a pin from the other side as it cud be clogged up further back inside the little black unit

How about also blasting some compressed air or even taking it off and giving it a good blow through

are they the standard pug ones you have on it?

If it is, you are better putting xsara mist jets on.

They spray the entire screen with a mist rather then 2 jets that come out of the standard peugeot ones.

Citroen part No. is : 6438 G9
Last time i changed mine over it cost me about £6 for the pair.

I really like the mist jets, My 206 has them, Also seen them on Saxo / 106.

Those jets clean the whole screen well & they use less water doing it.

Its a bit odd the first time you experience them, But after that they are fine.

After driving my Dads 406,i too liked the mist jets.I got a pair from Peugeot 2 mths ago for about £6.Same fitting on the Xantia.Worked a treat until the left side blocked up again.I`ve since replaced the hose/tubing under the bonnet leading to the jets,no probs since. There was quite a bit of gunk trapped in the pipes.
