Shell Diesel Extra

Has anybody else noticed a massive improvement in performance and smooth engine running when using Shell Diesel Extra in a Xantia HDi... car seems to be a bit rougher and less responsive when using other diesels, do Shell put something in it?

Its supposed to have more additives in that clean your engine out. Interestingly i get more smoke with Shells stuff than I do with Totals. God only knows why that is.

Try Hydraflush if you want to see smoke!

Burns and runs ok - but by keeeerist it doesnt half smoke.

My Xantia seems to smoke more on Shell than on Texaco, but I get better MPG on Shell than on Texaco, but it runs Smother on Texaco than Shell. And those are the only two fuels that I use (im the only one who drives the car). What a crazy setup - I should mix them 50/50 for the best result

I was kind of hoping for better economy and less smoke, but like all the best laid plans......

For performance, try BP diesel.
I normally use Shell, and I've never noticed any difference between fuels (even biodiesel) until I tried BP last week.
My TD Xsara is flying on it.

Just topped up with Total's juice, 99.9% of the time I use Shell's diesel. Very interestingly The injectors seem to 'knock' less under acceleration than when using Shells juice, Ive never noticed this before as I hardly ever use Total -maybe its time to switch!? Its a lot smoother. I wouldnt have expected this at all. Mad eh, anyone else found this with the HDi engine?

Dont forget that after all Total fuel and oil is Citroens recommendation for best results. Just a pity that there is not a Total fuel station near me - Anthony.
