Peugeot 306 Central Locking

Post by rich_spens »

Ever since I've had my 306, the central locking has been bouncing intermittantly. As soon as it's locked it unlocks itself automatically. It does it both with the key and the plipper.
Does any one know the most common reason for this - and a cure??

My 405 did the same, turned out to be a dodgey locking unit on the drivers door,
changed it and never had the problem again, have you tried getting in the car and
manualy pushing down the locks?

Had the same problem on a ZX. There is a microswitch in the lock actuator. If one door fails to lock the central locking controller "bounces" all the locks open again.

Thanks - not being an expert in auto electrics I've decided to take it to Peugeot to see if they can solve it. only issue is that whilst yesterday it refused to lock at all, this morning the car locked first time - seems that whenever you book your car in for work the problem never shows up.
