KNOCKING FROM FRONT OF CAR

I have a 1995 Citroen ZX 1.4i with power steering. I had my inner track rod ends replaced about three weeks ago due to excessive play in them. However on driving home from the garage some 20 miles or so a knocking noise become noticeable which can be felt through the steering wheel as well through the floor slightly when going over bumps in the road, and seems to becoming from the left front wheel side.
I took the car back the following morning and was told that there no play in the steering joints. I have had a quick look myself and cannot find anything loose. But I didnt use a crobar of anything just brute force with me hands.
Does anyone know what they might have disturbed during the work or any ideas what might be wrong.

1) Anti-roll bar bushes
2) Ball joint
3) Inner wishbone swivel bushes
4) Shock absorber mounting
Then there's not a lot left!

How about something they failed to tighten up?
