New light on Xantia dash.

I'm on my Second Xantia and tonight a light came on i never knew existed. Its not in the handbook either. Its next to the airbag light above the "sidelights, main beam, full beam" lights.

Its a picture of a man on a seat with a seatbelt on and it glows red.

What does it mean?

Did you not have your seatbelt on?

Is it a warning that the passenger side airbag is disabled for when you're using a child seat etc? Not sure - what age/spec is the Xantia?

It's the airbag/seatbelt pretensioner light.

Strange you have never seen it since it should come on for a few seconds every time you turn the ignition on.

It's probably the connector under the seat which has got wet/dirty.

Then again isn't that one yellow?

I don't remember a seatbelt warning light on either of my Xantias.

Its a 1996 (N) Xantia Activa.

Like i say in the 2 Xantia's i have had i have never seen this light ever before and its more strange how its not in the handbook!

Hullo,

I have that in my Xantia too. That is the 'fasten your seatbelt' reminder light. Disappears when the belt is fasten. Silent reminder unlike Volvo's which ticks noisily. Fasten your belt see if it disappears.

How odd - i dont have one on my Xantia (seatbelt light) and its a 2000 model.

I do have one that sounds the same which is the airbag / seatbelt pretensioner lamp, but its orange.
