Xantia SX TD 1998 Climate control / heater fan

Unread post by docbrown »

hello

I have a problem with my cars heater fan. It has stopped working and so the fan will no longer kick in. Prior to this the fan was only working on full or low and none of the intermediate settings or auto.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions.

Thanks

Just a suggestion, could this be those awful horrid transistors on top of the 'heater blower motor' that everybody who owns a Xantia seems to have experienced one time or another on this forum, that tends to be the most common fault for the air to stop blowing....i had to replace mine straight away when i bought the Xantia just over 2 months now...but if you air con im sure you need a heater blower motor also from a car that has air con too (added connections)

Its not to difficult to change the transistors if you are handy with a drill and soldering iron. You will need two PNP, T03 type transistors rated at 15 amps or more, alternativly you could just fit a secondhand blower.
