ZX Speedo problem

My other half has a problem with the Speedo

she had some work done the car (change of clutch)

and the guys made a complete balls of it

(she had to get someone else to fix it afterwards)

About 50 miles down the road the Speedo failed, I had a look and it

seems to have an

electrical connection instead of a cable so I think that it’s an electronic

pick up

how do you fix it?

May be worth letting the lads and ladettes know the specifics of the car instead of just a Zx

it's a Zx 1.9 TD estate (Nreg-96)

Ive had the same problems in the past with a volcane and aura, best to remove the contact from the gearbox and clean it up with some emery paper this has usually done the trick for me
