Xantia TD Rev Counter

Unread post by johnway »

Hello,
This is a good'un - when I lift off the go-go pedal the rev counter drops to zero, only to spring back into life the instant I touch the pedal again. Not a big problem but a little irritating - any ideas?
Thanks,
John. :( :( :( :(

Could be the pickup sensor is playing up. You may be able to take it off and give it a clean with some carb cleaner/switch contact cleaner. Or if you are a fussy (like my dad  ) buy a new one. Hope this helps - Alex.

sounds like a bad conection, every time you give it some gas the engine twitches and moves some wires, check the plug conector on the pick up wire

it only a pole sensor incased in plastic so there is not much to clean, apart from the pins in the plug conector
