106 problem

Unread post by davem »

Hi all
Just came across this forum and hopefully you can help. I own a 1995 106 1.1 with 48000 on the clock. It runs fine and seems to be ok but today I noticed a tiny amount of mayonaising on the radiator cap when I removed it. It also appears to have a bit of oil in the coolant however I cannot see any other problems. The oil level is fine and its not loosing any and the coolant level is also fine.
I looked in the haynes manual and it says that on some models the coolant flows through the oil cooler so could this be causing my issue. I've just been given the car recently so I'm not familiar with this model. I drive the car 50 miles every day and don't seem to have any problems.
Can anyone advise please, any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Dave

flush the coolant then keep an eye on it. If oil reappears then you may have a problem, a bit of mayo in the 106 isnt uncommon, its just condenstaion inside the cap.
