bloody stepper motor

does any 1 know if you can bypass the stepper motor at all i've just been to the citroen dealer and had it changed twice cause they couldn't get it to idle now i got her home stopped her and the bloody thing is ticking over at 3 thousand again and ideas or advice would be appreciated form john

Are they sure it's the stepper motor and not just the butterfly sticking?
Sticky butterflies aren't all that uncommon on BX16Vs so I can see no reason you car could be any different. Stuffing around with it may be intensifying the problem.

it could be the butterfly but going to take the car back on monday and get them to sort it cause i need the car for work and i'm now losing money cause i cant drive it

Get yourself a can of carb cleaner and squirt it all round anything in the intake system that moves- butterfly, airflow vane, etc. Its cheap and may sort your problem, assuming you don't have an airleak somewhere.
