C5 X7 Ghost Diagbox Faults Confirmation

Post by GiveMeABreak »

It would be good to have the following confirmed as 'ghost' fault codes, so if anyone else with an X7 C5 2.0 HDi Exclusive has any of these too - please chip in :-D

I have the following Faults coming up with Diagbox each time a global test is run - clearing makes no difference as the next time test is run the are back:
U1213 - Under Inflation Detection - Fault in the vehicle speed information received by the CAN from the ABS or ESP ECU. - Permanent - (but only on Diagbox Global Test - nothing on vehicle during running). All pressures measured and OK, so assume as car is stationary this would be normal.

U2005 - Triggering (Vehicle Speed Receipt Anomaly) - Electronically Managed Suspension (only the V6 engines have an additional Suspension ECU - so possibly another ghost fault)

F00A - CAN Fault - Parking Assistance - (again no issues and all front / rear parking sensors are fine and working).

Engine Management ECU (DCM34)
P1671 - Cruise Control - Info incoherent. It gives a load of info about battery charge, accelerator position etc, but Cruise works fine.

P0377 - Engine Speed Signal - No Signal - well the car is ticking over on idle so I would expect this?

None of those on my car ... IMO, one ghost error should be (translated from croatian): F40A - Oil level measuring fault, local, unclear ... this is stuck with me from DiagBox roughly v7.40 onward ... previous versions won't see it ... I'm currently on DiagBox v7.82

I think I had that U2005 on mine. I reset suspension fault codes, so have to check again later if it comes back.

What I have, 7.82, is the equivalent to 8.18. (at least that's what the 2 guys who are working on the releases say about them)

I have Diagbox 8 Version 8.17 - but Lexia (if you need this for older cars) won't work on this until you comment out the Version.ini file to a V 7.xx. If you don't do this Lexia will corrupt your licence file - so always a good idea to keep this backed up safely. The version to 8.01 was a different install process that needed the AWROOT folder renaming and all that prior to installing, then the other updates were OK after that. We were informed that all the missing telecoding was restored in this version, so I'll probably stick with this for now unless any major changes that affect me. Once everythings bedded in, I'll update the Forum Wiki with the change logs. :-D

Can you grab a screenshot of the start page of the 8.17? Unless it is blue, I won't be changing mine ... :D

The Diagbox Screen with Citroen / Peugeot choices? - Ok, will do tomorrow as the laptop is just installing Windows update number 39,456!

Also, I found that battery configuration on Diagbox, so will post that tomorrow too.

As a surprise I was going to try and make a map of Diagbox for an X7 - not sure it's worth doing. but I spend a while trying to find things, and don't really know what things I haven't found..

but I haven't got anywhere with it ;)

Those are the sort of faults that appear when the underbonnet fuse box is playing up - but if there are no obvious signs like warning lights or the like, then I would be tempted to ignore them!!
