Jim: Have you ever seen the main clutches wear in the 4hp20? Not the lock up in the TC. I think there are another two clutch packs,maybe forward and reverse..........A and B?

The HP20 uses all clutches both as clutches and brakes. Generally they wear very well. They're either serviceable or burned out. There are two big clutches and four brakes in an HP20 and the only ones I've seen with any wear is the F brake. The big clutches are D and E.
