Oil filter part number assistance please

Post by spider »

Posting here as it is a Citroën specific question, well the part is.

I've just done another quick oil change on the trusty 106D and the filter I've had floating around for a few months was an AL code.

I thought that the Citroën equivalent of the Peugeot filter (1109T0) was a T1 ?

Is the AL an older filter (old stock?) unless part numbers have changed in the past few years.

It used to be (Peugeot) N2 for the older cars on the shorter intervals and T0 for the larger intervals ie post 98, I think Citroën would of been N1 (or N3) and T1 respectively.

Not too important although really I wanted to know if the AL is an older filter than the T series or not and if so I assume its the 'long intervals' filter, not that it matters as I'd not leave oil in a TUD for 10K anyway. 5/6K changes for me. :)
Andy.

Thanks Malcolm, just a bit confused as its a genuine filter and its marked 1109AL

I'd have to assume its an earlier one or something (equivalent to the N2 Peugeot one) as I know later / longer intervals have the T0 (T1?) one fitted.

As best as I could tell from some examination a long time ago, the later 'long intervals' filters do not appear to filter as much (speculation)

No matter really as I'll be doing the changes at 5 or 6 K or six months (as I have done) regardless.

EDIT... Can you have a quick look if you don't mind at a TUD5B unit ? If it lists a different one for that that is.
Andy.

Ah thanks perfect, that does explain it.

I could not look myself (not being lazy) as I only have Peugeot data.

It seems is the earlier filter (but for 'longer invervals') for the larger engines.

Given on the Peugeot models it was N2 for the servicing up to about 98 then T0 for later models (longer intervals) I guess Citroen changed numbers again from T1 possibly Peugeot did too after I left, no matter then as I see it is suitable given that it would of been used to the earlier ones and there was no difference on Peugeot at that time. :)

Thanks.

I do have a Peugeot servicebox account although I did not check it (sorry) thinking that filter was going to be only shown for Citroen models.

I have recently come across some anomalies with oil filters for the TUD5 engine and I can't find a solid answer. I used to buy Purflux LS867B supplied by Citroen dealers.
This time I bought a Mann-Hummel filter and was supplied with a W716/1 but, when I checked the Mann-Hummel catalogue it lists the W712/8 upto model year 99 and then the W716/1 from Model year 99 onwards for the VJY engine code but, for a VJZ Engine code Lists the W712/8 only. There is no filter listed for the VJX engine code.

The W712/8 cross references to the Purflux LS867B and the W716/1 cross references to the Purflux LS923.

I'm tempted just to leave the W716/1 on the engine as I've fitted it and driven the car about 50miles since.
