I can get you one this evening. There are 4, maybe 5 different ones.
I'm not sure about the Pug 406 but I can tell you that the late series 1 Xantias (with the airbag light in the instrument cluster rather than the steering wheel) are near enough the same as XMs, 806, Synerge, Xsara and I think the 306, all with a bit of modification to the radio connector on the dash side.

Series 2 Xantias I'm not 100% sure I would be surprised if it was unique.

Thanks Kev,

There is difference between the MK 1 and 2 and I think it is the way it is fitted. Mk 2 is fitted with 3 screws

I have an airbag fault warning on my C5 and it seems to be from the rotating switch at the steering wheel, haven't had a lot of luck fixing it, I thought I'd got it for a while then after a couple of weeks it came back, on the C5 it's not a separate part it's part of the actual switching block and according to the Citroen list there are about twenty different ones depending on the car spec; :( .
found one in the local breakers that's not quite a match but I'm going to try making one out of two.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

All Mk2 xantia (except those with RB1 or RD1 stereos) used the same rotary connector, which was also used by (some) Mk1 Xantia from mid 96 (those with an airbag warning light on the dashboard).

I have scoured a few breakers yards for these, and have not seen an identical part on any other Citroen or any model of Peugeot.

The model for the RB1/RD1 radios seems to have the same connectors at the airbag end, but the stereo connector at the car end is different and very fiddly to change.

The rotary connector fitted to my '97 Xantia also has 3 screws. Starting from when airbags were fitted to the Xantias this is what Citroen reckons:

Part number: 4112 Q1
Until 6964 or 03/12/95
Image

Part number: 4112 X7
From 6965-8211 or 04/12/95-03/05/99
Image

Part number: 4112 CP
From 8211-8483 or 03/05/99-30/01/00
You'll have to use your imagination, the black radio connector is the same on both sides.
Image

Part number: 4112 EC
From 8484 or 31/01/00 - end of production
Can't find a photo of that one.

Quite interesting really as I didn't realise series 2 connectors was the same as the late series 1.

EDIT: Photo for 4112 CP was incorrect.

Kev,

My one is 4112CP the 2nd pic.

It's amazing for the same 'middle' part there are 4 different electrical fittings :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

Hi All,

Well problem resolved with a bit of soldering, as I suspected the rotary switch for airbag had gone. Not surprising when you think how many times the steering wheel turns :)

Soldered the black connector from my own switch to new one obtained from kind members of the forum.

Also problem resolved re my rear brakes, new warped disc. Will replace with new disc shortly.

Once again the forum does it bit to keep Citroens running in GB another gold medal for team GB :-D
