I agree, also using someone else will give new ideas to the problem.addo wrote:My advice is to scrap the service agent. Five weeks and no fix - irrespective of price - is just shabby for a commercial enterprise.

I'm not suggesting for a minute that you should scrap the car, but if you do I'd be interested in some spares, or the whole thing.
It doesn't sound like a scrapper though. If it keeps up with traffic, runs reliably and passes emissions tests there's always the option of just living with it.
Our 110HDi C5 seems a bit slow too. It's ok, but it just doesn't seem as lively as the Xantia I had with the same engine. Maybe the C5s just don't go as well.

Andy wonders if it would be possible to remove sick engine and replace with XUDT. I know it will physically fit (and will not suffer with these annoyances) , question of time / expense / excess of hoses to make fit properly and possible emission problem
Random thought.

Or even better an XM with low miles but then they are both about as common as Rocking Horse Poo and both have looming obsolescence issues which will likely hit you around the head sooner rather than later.rmunns wrote:Boris; please get a nice Xantia with low miles and enjoy......................................
Fine if you are an innovative DIYER, solutions can be found to most problems but and no disrespect intended, boristhespie doesn't qualify in that category.;-(

It only works with XP (not Vista or 7)
It can be a nightmare to install as the software isn't strictly legal and needs to be cracked
Some of the clones are dubious in quality and don't always work that well
I would personally look for a recommendation of a seller from someone that's had a good experiance.

As diesel nutjob said in an earlier post it is very likely to be a solenoid, more specifically the turbo pressure control solenoid ( electrovalve ) this is located at the top right of your engine bay under some clipped down plastic. It will be the metal cylindrical looking thing with a grey electrical plug and two vacuum hoses connected. There are four in total for egr and turbo check the connections on all and try swapping one of the non grey ones for the grey connectored one and see if there is a difference.
