Any1 got pictures of Xantia with 17" wheels
I just want to know what they look like with 17's on.
Mainly intrigued at the rear end when its on the lower setting, and what it looks like as normal for driving use
Anyone got any or can point me to some on the net?
thanks

At a guess these car:

Has 17" alloys, they certainly look too big. Given that every Xantia came standard with 15" wheels or 14" steels, 17 would appear too big in my opinion. 16" would probably suit it quite well but 17 might just be too much, makes the car look dumpy.

i think alot will be to do with the wheels, some wheels will look good, like that activa in silver at the top, that looks good with them rims
Its just I want to keep the car, but i get bored easily which can then lead me to go to worse cars at times, or cars that are just wrong for me, so I like to make them look good and change things to keep me interested
So I decided, if I can tidy mine up, put nice rims on it, spoiler, and just general cosmetic things then it will keep me interested longer lol!

thats where its nicer to get some thick spoked wheels, and maybe some grooved discs just to break up the bland looks
How do they fit under the rear arches though is what I was unsure about, the standard steelies take up the arches well enough, although the wall is huge on them...Its mainly the width of the wheels i was unsure about how they would fit

Obviously the offset counts but there's plenty of room above the rear wheel
if you don't get silly with the size of the wheel. Xantiae tend to be better than
other trailing arm Citroens for the longevity of their arm bearings so won't lean
the wheel in at the top of the tyre into the bootside of the wheelarch although
clearance isn't massive and the lip of the outer wing hasn't got miles of space
either.
Dean's silver car shows the space around the sunk down bodywork onto the
wheel as it's on the minimum flat travel and you'll likely be struggling to get
a lolly stick's width of space - I cannot recall the size of the tyres but would
expect 205 50 17's or somesuch as opposed to the standard Activa's tyre
205 60 15's. It's worth checking out the wheel comparison here:

Still, thats 1 bit I do love about these, park up and drop it lol! Well, looks like I must save my pennies then, so far ive fixed the suspension by giving it the proper bleed it needed, which is turn helped the brakes, sorted the airbag light, and just fixed my seat so it sits up properly instead of sinking the moment I sit on it!
So all thats left now is oil change, back box has a minor leakage, then its time to play around
To save me starting to clutter up with new threads, I only have 2 questions now...What is the best grade oil, and is it easy to get to the wires for the speakers on the dash? I want to put in x-overs along with better speakers and run the x-over to the speakers on the dash to use them as tweeters

C5, C5, Xantia, BX, GS, Visa.
R4, R11TXE, R14, R30TX - x 4922
I'll concur with that. I was a bit undecided at first but think it looks great now I've see some more pictures.Citroening wrote:IMO, there's only one Xantia that looks nice with the 17" wheels on here...and that's Dean's!
Really nice looking car there!
Whatever the handbook advises. What is the best grade oil
Asda have a very good offer on at the moment.

No they haven't, finished today
Just so you know Dave mine on the silver activa are 215/45/17.......im sure but will check in a minute just incase im thinking of the XM. Of course its all down to the offest of the rim in relation to the hub but if you do buy some they usualy tell you what size to go for anyway.
