Is this Xantia a HDI 90 or 110 ?

Post by KevMayer »

I'm looking at a very nice Xantia on ebay. The seller is unsure whether its 90 or 110 BHP HDI.

Does the pics show intercooler pipework which will make it a 110 ?

cheers,

It's a 110. The cover in front of the engine doesn't exsist on a 90 bhp. Lucky sod first mistake I made getting a 90bhp.

If the panel is not a reliable indicator, then the air pipe going back over the engine next to the air pipe from the filter certainly is - 110s have this, 90s don't - so this is a 110

90/110 HDI

Post by johnway »

Hello,
If you can get the chasis no. u can tell. Do a search on the web for Citroen identification - I did this when checking a 110 HDI C5 but cannot remember the website found giving the ifo. Another way is to get under the car and look for an intercooler behind the turbo (90's don't have one I believe). There may also be a sticker on the inside door posts stating VIN and 110 (or 90). Final suggestion : contact Citroen Customer Support and supply the VIN & reg no.
Hope some of this helps,
John.

I Blame it all on my Dad!! (Sadly had to give up driving & his 2nd BX) but Mum still has a C1.

I have a 90 and it has the cover.

It does not have the additional pipework next to the air intake (as previously pointed out) as this one does. This is a 110 with an intercooler.
The 90 does not have an intercooler, has some diff. engine components, uses diff brakes and so on.

Look at the vin number and along it the letters RHY and RHZ will be on it. This will tell you if your car is a 90 or 110 cant remember which is which. The car in the photo is a 110.
