Given the number of 'After-sales campaign' notices concerning Takarta Airbags I have been made aware of when looking up parts from PSA for members, I thought I would post a link to the following documentary that may be informative concerning the issue with these igniters.

According to Takata, the chemicals in the airbags’ explosive charge can...

An 'eejit' in admin has just noticed, and panic'd. Covering backsides. Something might happen! - Then DO something! And 'something' has been done.
It's the way of our present world.

Needless to say, no-one is going to say: It will be fine, just take it along to your nearest Citroen outlet - (hence the DO NOT DRIVE notice) - because then they will...

Disruption to Parts Service

As you may be aware, the consolidation of the old PSA to the Stellantis Group systems has resulted in both a merge of data tools and a requirement to migrate PSA accounts to Stellantis Systems.

This has caused some problems for organisations like ours and the Team are currently looking at the best way forward. This...

Hello all,
Was talking to Hell Razor at the XM25 and the subject of lower ball joint replacement came up  . He suggested I put this on the Forum :-D .
Story goes I had tried the long bar, but desisted as the torque was doing horrible things to the suspension and nothing was moving  . So I resorted to  spending money !
I...

How to: Refurbishing a Citroën leather steering wheel

by Prof. Dr. Holzauge » 19 Dec 2013, 11:01

First post

A common problem it is, that the coating of the steering wheel of C5 I & II gets sticky and awful:

Please note that there are (at least) three types of steering wheels used in C5 I & II:

4109 EK, 'honest' plastic steering wheel
4109 FN, 'looks-like-fake leather' leather steering wheel, with stitching but no padding
4109 EX, real leather...

Last post

Update.

Recently came across a 4109 FN steering wheel, the one which looks like it desperately tries to look like a leather one, though a bit unsuccessfully. With stitching but without padding. To my surprise leather appeared after removing the old and awful coating. Despite this Citroën Service lists the 4109 FN wheel a rubber steering wheel ....

for my citroen xantia S2 1998 1.9TD estate I bought what appeared to be a pretty good drivers door with great looking hinges after my original door top hinge failed miserably.

I had it sprayed the right colour from silver to dark blue and with some help managed to get it fitted to the car.

the top hinge lasted exactly four months before it...

My Peugeot 306 hdi 1999 during the winter and cold times the glow plug light used to come on. But since the weather warmed up I've not seen it on for awhile now.

The car starts and drives fine no problems. I was thinking the same why the light stopped coming on maybe the warmer weather.

I worked out today why the glow plug light wasn't coming on...

Lift up the arm rest then pull back the rubber cover at the top just behind the slot for the catch pin and you'll find it under there.

How To: Seatbelt Pre-Tensioner Connector Repair

by addo » 12 Nov 2010, 08:08

This is a common complaint on '90s Peugeot/Citroën models; The airbag light keeps flashing at me ... Seen it (or similar) on a few other Euro marques as well.

It's registering an intermittent connection through your underseat connector plugs that fire seatbelt pretensioners in the event of an accident.

Many solutions I don't like a whole lot,...

Xantia 1.9TD and 2.1TD Aux Belt Tensioner Replacement

by CitroJim » 28 Dec 2008, 09:20

First post

The spring loaded auxillary belt tensioner as used on the later (aircon) 1.9TD and 2.1TD fail due to the needle roller bearings failing and digging into the bearing sleeve, causing it to eventually seize. It gets notchy to begin with.

The tensioner can be replaced in-situ with minimal dismantling but access is poor. Here is how.

The correct GSF...

As always, prior to starting any work that involves getting underneath a Xantia, or any Citroen with hydraulic suspension, make absolutely certain that the car is firmly supported on axle stands or ramps. This is particularly important when working on the suspension system hydraulics, the car can drop very suddenly with fatal results.
