Landmark film for van fans.

Unread post by Richard_C »

On Amazon Prime you can watch, for free, a 1965 made British film called Dateline Diamonds. Don't pay to see it, it really is dreadful but slightly improved by being only 1 1/4 hours long. I couldn't decide if the scriptwriters ran out of ideas or lost the will to live. It has cameo appearances from Kiki Dee - who seems to be miming to a song in a different time zone - the Small Faces, Kenny Everett and others.

There is a nice white (or off white? I think they were all off but as its a monochrome film, who can tell) Volvo Amazon in some scenes. It also has a remarkable scene in which a villan makes off in an E Type Jaguar followed at some distance by a great weight of policemen in a Wolsey 4/44 who, despite taking a wrong turn and having to reverse, catch him......

But the real landmark - it's believed to be the first film to feature a Ford Transit :)
