I have a 2011 Peugeot 508 with the 1.6 e-HDI engine.
The car starts and drives and the battery voltage is near 14V, but the diesel (resistance/glowplug) light stays on and power steering does not work.
Running a scan shows the following errors:
P0A1A - Alternator. -> Alternator communication fault
U1401 - Alternator LIN network -> Registering of a fault on the slave node of the alternator LIN network
U0131 - Intersystems CAN -> No communication with power steering ECU
I'm guessing I need to address the alternator problem first, the pump may need the alternator signal on the ECU for it to correctly "wake up". If I try to scan the power steering pump, diagbox returns "no dialogue".
The alternator errors do not change, even if i leave the 5-pin connector unplugged.
The alternator on my car is the 180A one (part code 9675753680). I think the LIN circuit on it is bad, but I need to know for sure. Is this the correct pinout for it? Can anybody give me a tip on how to test the alternator LIN line? I've heard the LIN pin is given 12-14V, but when plugged on the alternator, it should drop to around 7V, mine stays at 14V, so maybe internal wiring/LIN circuit is busted?
I need to test it thoroughly as this alternator in particular is somewhat expensive
Thanks in advance for any help.
