Peugeot 207cc misfire on cyl 2&3

Unread post by Izer88 »

Hi, looking for some advice, I have a peugot 207cc 2010 that has an engine warning light and some error codes that I'm struggling to troubleshoot.

P2178 - mixture adjustment
P1336 - combustion misfiring
P1337 - misfire on cylinder 2
P1338 - misfire on cylinder 3

The car is juddering, pulling back and losing power. I replaced all sparks and coils, cleaned the maf, used odb to clear all errors but it all came back. Any advice would be appreciated, I did a live diagnostic while idling which is attached

How many miles has it done, engine size ?

The timing chains wear on the vti engines but it does not look as if you have a timing error code.

If you look at live data when the engine has fully warmed up are the values any different to these cold engine ones ?

Hi, it's a 1.6 it's done 57k miles. I'll do another live diag tomorrow and try do a second one with the errors, since the one I've uploaded I'd already cleared them.

My thoughts are injectors or lamda but the oxygen readings seem in the normal range and I don't want to be unnecessarily replacing parts if I don't need to, since I'll be selling it come march. (Providing I can get it running right).

When a code is stored freeze frame data will also be stored showing values when the code was given - take a note of these before deleting anything since it may help.

I've been unable to get the codes to show again since changing the coils, sparks, fuel rail and injectors, also changed the vvt at the front and cleared the errors which have not returned. It improved things slightly however it is still juddering, also won't get above 3000rpm or more than 60mph. Pulling off in first is difficult, and when going through the gears it's noticeably worse when accelerating lightly. Hard acceleration seems to work better for a moment until the juddering kicks in again. Really at a loss now with what else to try. Should any remapping/timing need resetting since changing the injectors? Other than this I'm open to any suggestions as it's been off the road over a month now and I could really do with being mobile!

Thanks in adv

One thing to consider with it being consistently a #2 and #3 misfire is a compression test, it's quite possible for a head gasket to fail between cylinders without any fluid leakage.
