Hi again! My 2004 C8 has just failed MOT on a minor bit of corrosion. I have the equipment to sort this, my concern being any possible effects on the electrical systems that run all these modern (by my standards!!) vehicles. Should I just disconnect the battery leads or is there an approved method to adopt to safeguard the electronic system? Sorry if this is more a generic based query, just I am more used to welding principles based on pre 1995 cars!
Many Thanks, Pete

Re: C8 welding procedure regarding electrical safety
Hi Pete, the biggest issue for welding cars is damage to the alternator diodes, which is why we disconnect the battery when welding. As far as I know, removing both terminals from the battery will protect the electrical and electronics systems.
