Peugeot 508 HDI 163 - won't start - B1836 00 plus some others

Unread post by Tomski1973 »

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my 508 HDI 163 Keyless. The problem is it won’t start. I can open and close the car with both of the keys. Battery has been charged, key batteries has been changed but pressing the start button makes no change. Putting the key in the key holder doesn’t help. I have disconnected the battery twice - all the windows have gone down an inch every time I have reconnected the battery - I can’t get them up at all - duck tape due rain seems to be the only option for now;).
I have connected Diagbox and I am getttig te following:
B180E 87, B180F 87, U1F05 11 related to BSI and B1836 00 - Transponder Aerial Fault.
Do I guess it right that the key reader located by the key socket might be faulty?
Does it make sense to buy a second hand one?
Is there anything else I can do testing/checking wise?
All help would be much appreciated.

First read through the relevant parts of the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure to make sure you have reinitialised the fobs after disconnecting the battery. Failure to do this can result in failure of the fobs to operate correctly.

The guide covers hands-free access - just follow the relevant parts This should be done first to eliminate the obvious no cost fix before looking further if you still have issues. Make sure you follow the timings correctly.

B180E 87, means there is a Fault in authenticating the hands-free remote control not present in the reader: No response to the request
B180F 87 means there is a Fault in authenticating the mechanical/electronic key or the hands-free remote control present in the reader: No response to the request
U1F05 11 means there is a Fault with the remote-controlled wake-up line - Short circuit to earth
B1836 00 means there is a fault with the transponder aerial.

But try the BSI / Battery reconnect procedure first as this will eliminate any gremlins. If that fails let us know and I'll get you the rest of the fault code info.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

Thank you very much for your advice.
I will definitely try it today when the rain is less frequent and I can easily put some more tape or foil if needed.
