Failing that Gibbo, I believe we know someone who would love to have a look at it for you!! Apparently he's pretty busy at the moment but by the time we see you in April he may have some time!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Took the guts out of it this morning, it's black as coal in there so for the moment it's soaking in warm water and bathroom cleaner for an hour. might be able to see any wear once it's a bit cleaner. One of the clock guys on the net said the ideal cleaner to use is car brake cleaner.

Knowing very well the level of skill and time (no pun intended!) it takes to correctly overhaul a clock like this, £300 is a bargain. To fully overhaul one of my grandfather clocks takes several days.
The problem Eric, will be old oil dried out/gummed up and plenty of ancient dust/grime - as you've already found. Thing is, the whole works need to be fully dismantled to properly clean and re-lubricate.
On the plus side, it'll be good for a further 50 years... If the correct clock oil is used.

Just a quick note, I checked my FCF Tax Disc and that is showing the correct french badge and the Renault badge. Do you still have the graphics for that?

The stickers were made (much later) using a different base image. I believe that the artwork for those is safely archived.

Have a look at this Ryan, it will give you an idea of what Husky is referring to:

Is it possible to get an image of the FCF flag and car badges without the words over the top? I might challenge my son to sort it, he does Tik Tok videos so should be easy for him... hopefully not

EU rules thankfully...I can relax now. On the bright side, how many classics will be sold to this country at a stupidly low price!!?mickthemaverick wrote: ↑17 Feb 2024, 20:39 Have a look at this Ryan, it will give you an idea of what Husky is referring to:

No repairs , no garages , no motor factors, we have never come out the EU.
Look on the bright side , no pollution , cleaner air , no more going to your fav sea side spot for the odd day out with the kids/grankids... what a wonderful world. As for classic cars if this happens were all be looking at nice drive way ornaments .

Re: Catch All - the place for anything you want to discuss off a specific topic
This car caught my eye because it is that very rare beastie - a car I hadn't heard of! It doesn't really fit in any of our car spotting threads, not being French, truly classic or under 10k although it could qualify for Favourite Colours or the Interiors thread but there are too many pictures to decide which one shows that off best. So here it is for general interest, I'd be intrigued to know who else was aware of it!

I knew of them but never seen one in the flesh, I've bought and sold a few Alfas Giulias, Giuliettas and for a while used a GTV2000 for my own car............but didn't they rust.

This scares the heck out of me!!! A little-known licence rule means 16-year-olds can buy a car as brand new EV comes to UK priced at less than £18k https://www.thesun.co.uk/motors/2619448 ... harebaramp My son in charge of anything that moves is worrying....
