2017 Peugeot 2008 1.2 TPMS/External temp issues

Post by Roblubi »

Hello!
Im start losing faith in myself after trying to fight TPMS problem in my 2008gtline 1.2 at
I read simmilar topics on forum and none of them suits my problem.
However i used knowledge and help from other users to try solve problems. But saddly without results.

So... car comes with error after turning key TPMS monitoring system fault. As i know its connected with outside temp sensor i noticed that board computer do not show external temp.
There was one short trip when error didnt come, and external temp was displayed on monitor.
But its start coming back straight after turning ignition now.
Fault codes are

U1800 81 (PLUIE LUMINOSITE UDS)
U1218:81 (VD64)
P160E:01 (gearbox)
U1218:81 (gearbox)
U1218 (ABS ESP)

BSI
B132C:1B
B1331:15
B1138:15 (Yes bad light bulb)
B1331:15 - all windows work fine
B183F:11
C1651:86

As i did have two same peugeots (both 1.2 2017) one Manual second automatic.
I take out Mirror with good temperature sensor from car without this issue and replace it in faulty one

That didnt change anything.
I cant find is there any fuses or relays related with problem.
What should be my next step. Please help.

Your vehicle will likely have an indirect TPMS depending on model / build date (if you provide your VIN I can confirm). Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Once I know what system you have I can maybe assist with the other issues.

However, if you have fault code: B132C and you have the indirect system you need to check the continuity between the BSI and the temp sensor. If the supply is there, then you need to replace the sensor.

VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

So i do understand well that i have to check if there is any voltage on pins in connector which is under door and goes to temperature sensor?

Thanks!

Ok so confirmed you have the indirect system, so the above advice applies.

Yes, you have to check whether there is any signal - if not the sensor needs replacing.

I just check, as there are two cables that goes to temp sensor i read on multimeter 5V on both of them?

So the sensor is likely faulty and needs replacement - as it's not a supply issue.

Update.
Both cables have 4.95 V when sensor is connected. When not one cables 0V second 4.95V

Iv replaced sensor on new one today, nothing changed.

Measured resistivity on both sensors old and new was the same.

Faulty bsi?

After disconnecting sensor, fault with high resistivity in external temperature sensor still comes back

I don't think you read my previous reply regarding TPMS. You have an INDIRECT TPMS system, so there is no TPMS module.

The system works via the ESP Computer and uses the wheel speed sensors to determine a puncture or low pressure by measuring and monitoring the circumference of the tyres.
There are many systems that rely on the external temperature sensor incorporated in the wing mirror, including the Air Conditioning system and Stop Start for example. So if you suspect the temperature sensor, then you should focus on replacing this to start with.

Most of these relate to electrical issues (regardless if one or more works ok), as they can work on the same CAN network, so while one thing works, another may not. It really needs somebody that can test CAN wiring using the appropriate testing equipment to track down the fault (s).

The Tyre under inflation detection fault means the ESP system is not detecting that you have reset the tyre pressures from the touchscreen (or however you are supposed to reset them on your vehicle). On mine it is via the touch screen - but the signal is not getting through - which again tells me there is a communications fault on the network. It needs investigation by an Auto electrical technician with the correct equipment.

B132C 1B Exterior temperature sensor fault
B1331 15 Electric windows authorisation fault : Short circuit to positive or open circuit
B1138 15 Front left dipped headlamp control fault : Open circuit or short circuit to the plus
C1651 86 Tyre under-inflation detection reset request signal fault : Absence of response from the ESP ECU

Hello Roblubi,

I believe I have the same issue as you. I have a Peugeot 2008. I have an intermittent “tyre pressure monitoring system fault” message coming up. I took it to a non Peugeot garage today and they told me I have an indirect TPMS system, and that when they plug in their diagnostics it says it is an electrical fault and that they cannot help with it. I also have a faulty external temperature sensor that shows from -30’C to +30’C when it’s about 5-10’C outside. I am planning to change the temperature sensor to see if this resolves it for me, but I was wondering if you found a solution for yours and could share with me what it was? Many thanks.

Pop your VIN up and I'll tell you what system you have. If it is indirect then there's nothing involved with tyre sensors or valves - it will be entirely handled by the ESP system and if that was getting incorrect wheel speed problems, there would be far more warnings presented including ESP / ABS, Hill start / electronic parking brake faults etc.
