Hi, so this is my first post here....
I have a 2002 C5 2.2 exclusive, last year my clutch went and it went to be fixed by a Citroen specialist friend of mine, while the car was sat outside for a couple months (couldn't afford to pay) the battery went dead etc, the car was jump started and I was told that the display system for the sat nav blinked and then stopped working..... I now have the car on the road again but the display doesn't show anything, at night there's a backlight on so I know there's power going into it.
I have bought a replacement display from eBay and fitted that only to have the same issue.... Does anyone know what else I can try to get the display working again.
Oh I have an aftermarket head unit in the car and it was all working perfectly before the battery went dead. It's been plugged in and no fault comes up to do with the display.
I really need it working again.
Thanks. (Tom)

I can't really help you with aftermarket systems and you haven't mentioned what you actually fitted, but most issues can be related to a discharged battery. If it's anything of 5 years or over - replace it as if the battery health and capacity is poor it will affect on-board systems.
Get a new battery or if it is relatively new, it may need a 24 hour charge. Follow the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure

Hi Tom and
I had the same type of issue on my C5 Exclusive 2.2 although with the standard head unit. The whole sad story was documented and the thread includes a lot of information which may help, you can find it at:

I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: C5 exclusive 2002 sat nav display issue
Hi, I've fitted a Sony headunit, I thought it could be because of the head unit, so I put the original back in and the screen is still dark, but at night time the back light is showing but nothing else? So I'm completely confused by it all now. I really need it working as it's driving me insane now. I even bought a 2nd screen and that didn't work either??? So could it be something else? Also when I put my foot down now the engine management light comes on, sadly I've falled out with my mate now so can't use his garage anymore...... Thank you all.

Re: C5 exclusive 2002 sat nav display issue
The screens are specific - but to be honest there could now be many reasons why it's not working and may not even been the screen. Also, disconnecting and connecting the old head unit with the screen must be done in the correct order, otherwise it can destroy the display (Battery disconnected first, then Quadlock from rear of head unit, then other connections an display. Reconnect in reverse order and finally reconnect the battery following the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure.
