New bluetooth adapter appears to be mono?

This unit is the RD4 or RD45 system, made by Continental.
Usually standard equipment unless another system is specified as an option. There are Single & Dual Tuner versions. RD45 features over the RD4: The RD45 has USB connectivity & integrated Bluetooth module supporting Phone & Audio Streaming.

New bluetooth adapter appears to be mono?

Post by Neilcmusic1 »

Yesterday a forum member very kindly enabled Aux 1 and 2 for me on my rd4 car stereo for my 2007 807 ( 100% happy with this) . I have added an aftermarket bluetooth player that plugs into part B and gets power from main plug, power is going to the stereo, the plug has 3 wires, the first is a black wire that appears to be a ground, this splits to serve both red and white wires, this goes into pin 11, which is showing as ground, a red wire goes into pin 4 and a white into 10, all wires are intact. The speakers work on both sides with cd and radio but not bluetooth

When I send to Aux from phone sound only comes out of the left side, this is front and rear speakers so it's not a speaker issue, I have swapped red and white wires and still only from the left side, this is an aftermarket bluetooth adapter, any ideas how I can get audio from both speakers, it appears this is mono.

Thanks is advance.

P's it was an aftermarket adapter but it was from Halfords so it looks pretty decent

It would help first if you told us what make and model of bluetooth adapter you have bought. Most bluetooth adapters use bluetooth to pick up the transmission from the phone and then re-transmit via a spare FM frequency to your head unit's radio receiver for playback over the speakers.

All the bluetooth adapters I can see on Halfords use FM transmission, so has nothing to do with AUX inputs.
