Dash board notification messages.
Driving yesterday in the 206cc it started to rain the wipers came on by themselves with a notification of auto wipers active , heres the weird part.. then another message unblock fuel filter message followed. This happens each time i was notified the auto wipers were activated.
I'd like to get rid of the blocked filter message as i know it isn't.
Every filter is new. My lexia,pp200 has stopped working it crashes & i can't be asked to sit for what feels like hours on end with a 25+ yr old xp laptop reinstalling it all again , yes i could of done a back up but i didn't I'm human lol seriously considering selling the setup any how... any ideas why this dash seems to scroll up more than one notice when it only need to tell me about the wipers ?

Re: Dash board notification messages.
1) When you installed Diagbox the first time did you take a backup of the licence file? This must be done in case the system deactivates. It can then be replaced with the backup and this will reactivate the system, We are only talking about 1 file here. Of course it is no good doing that now as the file gets written to on deactivation.
The files location is:
C:\AWROOT\BIN\FI\APPDIAG.SYS
Unfortunately the file is unique to your individual hardware, so can't be provided by another owner.
And of course without a working copy of the software, you won't be able to get a fault code or check the issue you are referring to Husky.
The fact that the message is appearing when the auto wipers are activated would suggest a communications fault on the network somewhere or a bad earth possibly.

Can you not get an emulator on your new laptop to replicate 32bit? I play loads of old games that way.

Re: Dash board notification messages.
Are you sure it never said unblock diesel filter?
If it did I think this is referring to the DPF.

Re: Dash board notification messages.
After you fitted the new DPF did you use Diagbox (or other high end diagnostic) to "tell" the car that a new one had been fitted?

Re: Dash board notification messages.
My wife's 206 has "unblock diesel filter" at present. Any other message (door open, auto wipers activated / deactivated, fuel level low, etc) is then followed by a repeat of the "unblock..." Message.GiveMeABreak wrote: 23 Jul 2022, 09:27...

Re: Dash board notification messages.
That warning message taken from an earlier 307 manual:
So very important to give the car a good uninterrupted run now and then.
So in Husky's case, when you replaced the DPF did you actually use the diagnostic tool to tell the engine ECU the DPF had been replaced? If not, there is no way for the engine ECU to know this and it will continually throw warnings up at you. If you did this, then you may currently be making short journeys where regeneration is not able to take place if the engine is not reaching operating temperature. Several attempts will be made to regenerate on the next journey where this is the case, but if this is interrupted or the exhaust gasses are not able to reach the required temperature, the DPF will fill get clogged. Be warned that if the clogging gets to anywhere above 70% that regeneration may no longer be possible and the filter will need removing and cleaning.– "Unblock diesel filter" indicates the start of saturation of the particulate emission filter (due to exceptionally prolonged urban driving conditions: reduced speed, long traffic jams, ...). To regenerate the filter, you are advised to drive, as soon as possible when traffic conditions permit, at a speed of 35 mph (60 km/h) or above for at least five minutes (until the warning light goes out).
If the warning light remains on, contact a PEUGEOT dealer. Note: following prolonged operation of the vehicle at very low speed or at idle, you may, in exceptional circumstances, notice emissions of water vapour at the exhaust on acceleration. This does not have any effect on the vehicle's performance or on the environment.
If it flashes when the engine is running, accompanied by an audible signal and the message "Catalytic converter fault" on the multi-function display, it indicates a malfunction in the injection or ignition system. There is a risk of damage to the catalytic converter (petrol engines only).
So very important to give the car a good uninterrupted run now and then.

Re: Dash board notification messages.
Husky wasn't able to use his diagnostic to tell the Engine ECU about the DPF change before his laptop crashed so the ECU thinks the DPF is still the old one.

Re: Dash board notification messages.
It gets 2 good long runs one on a motor way for at least 25mins one junction to another to get to a weekly bootfair also doing a 90 mile round trip last week there was about 6 mins of clear smoke coming out the exhaust then after this it seems very clear and even more responsive on acceleration so im guessing that must of been a regen also noticed after this the mpg got better. Just need to get pp2000 to tell the ecu off lol
