Hello to all
After the last success with the operation of the RNEG radio with the RT3 radio amplifier, I go to the forum with another request. I would like to know what is the structure of the files on the SD card of the RNEG radio and what each file means and what is its function. Specifically, I want which file provides the voice of navigation. I had the Czech language, which is on the card, recorded with the latest version. However, with the new version of the maps, I have English in my voice again. Can you advise which file belongs to the navigation voice? Thank you for your help

The languages are set in the main menu. Trying to modify files directly will likely cause failure as on some other units, there are checksums used for file integrity.

Re: RNEG and file list of sd card
Thanks for the reaction, I guess I was wrong, I'm not talking about the language, it is set by editing the radio firmware update. I was specifically talking about the voice of the navigation, which is adjusted on the card. I bought a Czech voice with maps, which were uploaded to my sd card on the version of maps 01/2021. Now I have downloaded the new maps, but there is the English voice back and I would like to know which set to edit so that I can use the maps again with the Czech voice.

Re: RNEG and file list of sd card
I don't think you understand me. The maps have nothing to do with the navigation direction voice. All the navigation commands are handled by the main system. The maps are not language specific - only country specific. Do you really think they would produce each map update in every one of the approx. 7000 languages in the world for every country?
You don't have a standard setup - you've put an RNEG in a car never designed for it and this may just be throwing additional problems. I have never heard anything like this issue before. All PSA telematic systems I have used over the years have no issues with the language - if I change the language on the Head Unit to German, then the navigation is also German - change it to French and the same happens.

Yes, I understand you, but
But when I wanted to buy a Czech voice for RNEG navigation, the seller only took the map card from me, and after his return, after editing the files on the card, the navigation started announcing the instructions to me with the Czech voice. And since I assumed that he probably modified or replaced one of the files, I wondered if the voice of navigation with the Czech language in the same way, or with the modification of the ini file, could not be used for newer map materials. That's why I asked about the file system and their function. I am not interested in the Czech language in the texts (I already have one, by replacing and modifying one of the original languages) but only in the voice of navigation.

I can't help you with this, you are obviously using unofficially sourced maps that have been altered. This is not an issue with proper maps.

Re: RNEG and file list of sd card
thanks anyway.
Yes, I use unofficial maps, because the last original maps are for RNEG from 2018, these are from the competition, ie BMW
thanks again for the help

Re: RNEG and file list of sd card
Hi
so i solved it. the files in the "/database/database" directory are map materials and the files in the "/database" directory are control files, including voice. Just edit the texts in the file 'acios_db.ini', so a list of files to search for must be written to the file. New maps are replaced.

Re: RNEG and file list of sd card
The checksum is not a problem because there are programs on them, but are there any text editors for these files in rneg that would be used to swap and edit the text?GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑16 Apr 2022, 11:06 The languages are set in the main menu. None that I know of. What I meant before is that some files must be of the exact file length (bytes) as I know for a fact that on the RT3 systems people tried to change the voice commands and it crashed the system as the files were not accepted once modified.
