Easy diagnostics, Forum discount!

But if your interface is full chip it may support later versions. If you join the Peugeot Planet 200 and Lexia Duiagnostics group UK Based on Facebook they've got links for a virtual version of 9.68.

You don't need to go that far with the version numbers. In fact it's better NOT to go that far if you don't have to.

We have a 2015 Peugeot 308 and versio 7.58 is good enough for most things. I have to manually select the BSI which I'm sure would be included in a (slightly) later version. Maybe I'll go to 7.62 but I don't want to go further than that as I believe that various bits of functionality are gradually removed.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Inside every old person is a young person wondering what the hell happened.

I think you may need to look into this a bit further David, as I know V7.58 won't cut the mustard either.

You are probably looking at V9.68 or later to even recognise the unit and further, configuration may well be locked down on these as most telecoding is online only via PSA servers with V9.** versions of DB.

Really? For a 2015 car? There are still 7.62, 7.66, 7.74 and 7.76 before then.

Bugger, I was hoping this might be a bit simpler than this!

I can read the config of it with 7.15 by selecting RNEG 2010 when it says ECU not recognised. I was able to program the VIN that way too but it fails when trying to change the config.

I was hoping it would be a case of just changing the settings from ABSENT to PRESENT for the CD player and changing the steering wheel control type and hitting configure :(

Since a different laptop quality is required for the diagnostic software 9.xx, updates up to 7.82 (equivalent to 8.18) for vehicles up to the end of 2015/beginning of 2016 are usually the better and of course cheaper alternative.
Therefore, this path should be chosen as a priority.
But it is often also a problem of a defective China clone - even full-chip clones are not always OK.
Here, a helpful colleague from the forum close to home with the appropriate diagnostic equipment would be able to contribute to the solution.

The current software versions 9.xx can be installed directly either free of charge or at low cost (10€) - on WIN 10/64Bit/full version, then virtualisation is not necessary or as VM, if the laptop is not only used for diagnosis, also preferably on WIN 10/64Bit/full version - virtualisation is then a condition. If possible, 8GB RAM and 4-core processor.

Occasionally, clones no longer work with software version 9.

Yes but as David is trying to fit a later SMEG+ iV2 unit which I think came out 2016 / 2017 before being replaced with the later Connected NAC / RCC units, I'm just throwing that in.

I know there were corrections to configuration in Diagbox of the SMEG and SMEG+ units in version 8.15 (Oct 2015) - so as the iV2 units were later, I thought it worth a mention.

There's only one way to find out though - try it with your current version one update at a time and see.

Unfortunately this isn’t as simple as I’d hoped by the sounds of it.

I’ve got a feeling our local dealer won’t know what to do with it as I believe the unit I have is from a DS3.

I’ll give a few places a call to see if they can assist tomorrow.
