To prime or not?

Post by osx »

Decided to repair some scratches on the front wing but during sanding I found more layers of paint. Looks like the previous owner had done some paintwork which he didn't tell me about.
I started sanding with 400 and finished with 800 grit.
I was planning to just spray the base coat and a few coats of lacquer but not sure how this would work with the other paint being there.

It already worked once as you've only just noticed the old paint after taking the top coats of paint off - so I would just put on the new paint and lacquer as long as it's clean and grease free.
