Hello guys
Does anyone know why after upgrading the firmware of my C5's NG4 unit to the latest version (n42c-42.03) the icon that indicates the speed of the blower fan disappeared and now it doesen's show? Did anyone experienced the same issue?
The blower is working properly, also the buttons that increase or decrease the speed of it. It only doesen't show the little icon in either of the small displays.
Thanks in advance

Re: Fan speed icon
The Fan icon?
The NG4 has nothing to do with the heater control system or ECU - it is not like the RT* series that can display this data. So the firmware will have nothing to do with that. What I would suggest you do is a proper BSI reset as per this guide here:
BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure
Follow it exactly (especially the timings) as when the ECU is updated the BSI may need a full restart to ensure the data networks are cleared down and restarted properly. Firmware updates are notorious for affecting systems on occasion - and can sometimes upset the parameters in the BSI (which will need Diagbox to check are ok). But try the reset first.

I thought exactly the same about what does the ng4 have to do with that...but it happend right after the firmware update so I thought it was related.GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑08 Oct 2019, 20:25 The Fan icon?

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try.

Re: Fan speed icon
I have the same NG4 and have done loads of firmware updates, never an issue. It might be a coincidence, but see how you go.

Re: Fan speed icon
What happens when you press AUTO, does it change? If there is no change with manual adjustment or AUTO setting it might be a glitch, or the climate ECU itself. But I wouldn’t worry about it unless other faults develop.

Re: Fan speed icon
Pressing Auto does not change anything on the small display. Everything else works fine and as it should besides the fan icon. It is annoying because you don't know what is the speed of the fan. You just have to listen to it...
And it started after updating the firmware...

Re: Fan speed icon
Ok, that must be a coincidence as the NG4 has nothing to do with the Climate control unit - none of the readings or functions are related to the unit at all as the Climate ECU is a separate unit and will still function even if the NG4 unit is removed.
I suggest for now you just select the temperature you want and set it on AUTO and it will do it's job.
