the car is hard on both axles. could it be a coincidence that both blocks are damaged? the car was 5 years old and had 100,000 km on the dashboard when I bought it.

It's hard to know what the exact cause is without further investigation - could be spheres (incorrect or replaced copies), valve blocks or even a simple air lock in the system.
