I find single colours a bit boring as everyone has them.
If I bought a new car with any paint job I'd have it like that patchwork Beatle I remember from when I was a teenager.

If I have to pick one colour I agree with Timmo, depends on the car.
Xantia definitely the rare green that Green was, only the grey colour to go now and I've owned at least one of every colour I like.
Volvo Amazon best in Ivory.
Maserati GranSport, Dark Blue.

I have to admit I do quite like repulsive colours on cars.
Not sure why but I get quite a kick from having something good that everyone else thinks is rubbish.

This would turn my head, but you may put it in category 2 James.

and I do like the Midnight blue/grey beige roof combination here

Both pictures from here which is an absolutely comprehensive guide to Amazon paint/upholstery combinations.
Click on the model and year (blue font) and up come the examples.

I really like that Neil.
No time to look properly right now but I'll be browsing this evening.

My dream Amazon is exactly the top one, an estate in Ivory.
I'd like it fitted with a D5 engine and box, I know this will ruin the carb sound but I want an economical, beautiful, rwd car.
Very discreetly space framed for safety and a bit of extra strength for the power increase.
Also a modernised interior that follows the original but brings it up to date in terms of comfort with little things like headrests.

The white walls Really finish off the blue saloon, with std tyres the car just wouldn't Pop out at you imo.

Yes Guy Martins amazon is very special. Built by Mattias Vox who is a konigsegg engineer. If you look closely it wears a few konigsegg parts such as the hubs. Vox is another interesting character, he's constantly modernising beautiful old cars to supercar standards.

Now he's the kinda guy I'd like to restore my abandoned projects. If I won the lottery I'd rather spend, say, £1/4m like that than on, e.g., a (modern) Bentley Continental.

elma, can I commend a Packard Caribbean to you, to the best of my knowledge the only car with a factory tri-tone paint job. :)

Revive an old thread day, but really this has to go in here.

Dont think I have seen one of these in this colour before, and after being heavily critical and uninspired by the greys, silvers, whites, blacks, and tarmac coloured dull shades, even if the general opinion is yuk! I take my hat off to them different is interesting in my view.

Is that a revival of SD1 Avocado? Famous for being twinned with a Mango interior :(

I've noticed there are quite a few 'different' greens doing the rounds at the moment, some very nice some sickening.

It's the mid-50's Detroit light blues (some bordering on torquoise) that jump out at me.

Evidence of familiarity phenonemon, one spot of a striking green leads to many others. Like this Clio in what I deduce is "Apple Green" or as the French put it "Vert Pomme".

Straight red for sporty cars, deep metallic red for everything else.
