I imagine it had Xenons but they were damaged in the crash, so they were replaced with normal ones for cost reasons to make it viable to put back on the road

When I bumped my c5 with xenons and broke one of them, the cheapest I could find one was £250, and the mounting brackets on it was broken! I asked the price of a new one from Citroen and it was over £1500 IIRC. Malcolm also bought my one and fixed it. My one was a vtr and ot had the xenons as an optional extra, along with the lane departure and folding mirrors

I wonder sometimes if Citroen make their parts of unobatinium. I once sold an XM tailgate to a dealership so they could fit it to one of their customer cars . Reason was it was so expensive to buy a new glass from Citroen. I got 400 pounds for the tailgate and that saved the dealership a load of money ..

Found another little issue tonight. Might be a simple one. The front parking sensors don't work in drive, but do work when I go into reverse, which is useless as I'll have already hit whatever is in front of me. Seems like a simple thing, maybe a switch? Ideas?

Malcolm has also confirmed that they were directional but broken so turned off via the bsi. He said sensors were working when it left, so might be a simple fix. Advised to check plug on ns near headlamp but can't see anything obvious.

21.7mpg in slow stop start traffic on the way to work is actually pretty good for a V6 Auto!

In my Xantia V6 (a somewhat lighter car I think) I would not even reach 20mpg in slow stop start 30mph commuting - although I still log my petrol purchases and mileage in a log book I long ago stopped calculating the mpg because I don't want to know!! On a long motorway trip I can get up to about 33mpg though.

So i've had the C5 a couple of weeks now, getting to know its issues.

The main one is the ride quality. Its a bit crashy. Decided to order a full set of spheres, which are currently enroute from Scotland to Fareham. The main reason for having this car is the ride quality, so hopefully it will be spot on after this.
