Picture of the day:
Looking a little like something is on fire

Then two minutes later:
Sun dropped, turned grey

Then ten minutes later
Rain fell, entirely cloudy disappeared

Yes, that is a grass frost! It was chilly enough for me to wear my full cold weather gear when running, including a beanie to keep my head warm :)

The aurora photographers were out in force last night. The aurora naked eye-ers would be a little disappointed because only through the camera lens and no doubt a bit of photo editing were images such as this pair produced.

Still nice and creative, colourful, and a decent compositions, and its down at Cresswell Jim! 10.00pm ish last night

We are expecting frosts for the next 5 mornings in a row. I'll try and get a photo to match yours Jim (although I don't think we'll get anywhere near as white as yours) :). For those surprised that we get frosts in spring, Armidale is at 1000m above sea level.

Be looking forward to seeing them Alec :D I really love these crisp, sunny autumn mornings... The frost this morning is very early in the season for us... It's only a temporary blip as we have warmer air coming in today and a nice high building; the weekend will be lovely, sunny and warm...
