It looks like it's the offshore supply ship Sparfell towing a platform.
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

Its moved a couple of miles east and dropped anchor again. Doesn't appear to be towing anything.

Its still there. I don't think we have any platforms in Lyme Bay - unless they are under sea ones.

In that case, the thing I've circled must be a very intricate bit of dirt on my monitor that looks just like a (wind turbine installation) platform :-s
Definitely not a platform.....

They have all the car parks closed in Charmouth so perhaps they are trying to install turbines when no one is looking. 8-[ Its still in the position it moved to a couple of hours ago. Survey vessel of some sort?

Its gone this morning. It was apparently a rig being towed from the states to Holland, sheltering in Lyme bay. Couldn't see the towing vessel until I looked through the binoculars.

For a thread called Picture of the Day the last page has been severely lacking in the pictorial department!! Good to find out what the vessel was though Peter :-D
Meanwhile I spotted this garden roamer last night:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
