It looks like it's the offshore supply ship Sparfell towing a platform.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Its moved a couple of miles east and dropped anchor again. Doesn't appear to be towing anything.

In that case, it's the offshore supply ship Sparfell resupplying a platform !

Its still there. I don't think we have any platforms in Lyme Bay - unless they are under sea ones.

In that case, the thing I've circled must be a very intricate bit of dirt on my monitor that looks just like a (wind turbine installation) platform

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
They have all the car parks closed in Charmouth so perhaps they are trying to install turbines when no one is looking. Its still in the position it moved to a couple of hours ago. Survey vessel of some sort?

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Its gone this morning. It was apparently a rig being towed from the states to Holland, sheltering in Lyme bay. Couldn't see the towing vessel until I looked through the binoculars.

For a thread called Picture of the Day the last page has been severely lacking in the pictorial department!! Good to find out what the vessel was though Peter
