Activa RAM in ACTION

Unread post by Stickyfinger »

Thought people would like to see the rear ram in action....

This was taken during the MoT test with kind permission of the tester

I'm assuming he didn't need to test the ram itself other than check for leaks so you asked his permission to film it in motion?

And ... what's all that crud pasted onto your rear sphere, camouflage?

Where's your spare wheel carrier gone?

Filmed during the "Shake and Bake" test :)....he did check the bushes during operation......Permission ??....this is a very local station staffed by very friendly local guys....not at all like a town place with barriers and big waiting rooms :)

There is Zinc primer on some surface rust on the sub-frame and some spheres, quickly touched up before the test, black paint and a coat of Shultz on Sunday, spheres will be gloss grey or green if tested and OK....I think the spheres will all be replaced soon anyway, I have mixed feelings about how good they are.

Wheel carrier, the inside was not dry from a repaint last night, thru the wheel in the boot for the test rather than get it sticky....the spare needs a coat of paint after a quick wire brush anyway.

Yes, mine is like this. Even when I popped in the other day to get the headlights checked he invited me onto the ramp and told me to look in the headlight aim box thing they used, and explained which lines in there are for what (car/truck/van) etc and how the beams need to be pointing. Two older gents who are really very good and don't do repairs, just MOTs.
