Possibly a lucky escape there Mike ;)

I seem to recall you had quite a good relationship with a Vauxhall family bus in the past... With an luck this one will be the same for you..

Fingers crossed...

The Zafira was utter s**t. Described as "immaculate condition"... missing mirror covers, a dent on the back, and it stank of fags. They'd obviously tried to mask this with cleaner but had made it really foul!

That's a shame Mike :(

One persons 'immaculate' is another's candidate for being only fit for the scrapyard sadly... I've seen it so many times now...

Keep looking or get Alasdair to look out for something - he's a wizard at finding excellent cars ;)

The petrol Picasso was a lovely drive, but the clutch was knackered!

All these were dealers!

I'm going to look at a blue genuine 65k miles petrol 08 plater in High Wycombe tomorrow from a private seller. I'm done with dealers. So far today, 5 tried, 5 liars. I'd rather sell the Pug for £650 separately privately than trail round dealers!

Mike, that's so annoying and frustrating

Second-hand car salesmen worked hard to earn their reputation over many decades and are not about to change their ways any time soon  They've always been a bit dodgy and always will be...

Hope the private seller proves to be a bit more genuine [-o<

Ahh bugger, yes I did and I had to make do with a little Saxo

Now, one Aston that I do fancy is the little baby one they did based on a Toyota IQ (I think it was)..

Find me one of those for not a lot of money and I'd be delighted ;)

That’s my mileage for 3 nights delivering. This old girl is amazing. Most of that is town driving, stop start stuff. And not driven with economy in mind at all. In fact quite the reverse. The faster I get the deliveries done the more I do, the more I make. It’s not thrashed though, I do have some mechanical sympathy. The front tyres are about 3 mm the centre, and less on the shoulders, and I keep them at 35psi, and severe lack of grip now. I know they are still legal but I’m suffering wheelspim in 3rd on uphill corners at 2000 rpm plus such is the torque the old xud is giving. She feels like she has far more than the 90 bhp she should have. I think tyres shall be changed very soon. In fact she is going to get the 17” wheels that the activa had on just because they have good tyres on them. What will they do for grip and ride comfort? Watch this space.
