The waterless stuff is evil for paint as well. With the water you rinse the car before you wash it, when you're using that stuff there's nowhere for the crap to go other then along the paint on whatever you're washing it with.

There's a multi-storey car park in Glasgow (Buchanan Galleries) that have a car wash that use that method. There's always new cars parked in there and I drive past cringing.

A waterless wash is about as logical as a paperless loo!

One other issue to watch for is that the first thing most of these roadside car washes do is drown the whole car in traffic film remover (a very strong detergent). If you've got a car which doesn't have clearly over the paint...Like all of my fleet save the 107...Expect this to strip all the wax off and leave you with a spotty matt car that needs a full hand polish and wax before it looks anything like presentable.
Current fleet:
07 Volvo V70 SE D5, 88 Renault 25 Monaco, 85 Sinclair C5, 84 Trabant 601S, 75 Rover 3500, 73 AC Model 70.

That was a one off visit to that hell hole car wash out of desperation. It worked, I sold the micra! That was the sole purpose of washing it. I filled in the change of owner online and it automatically cancelled the road tax and declared sorn. I got a phone call from the buyer asking if I had declared a sorn as he couldn't tax it online as sorn was declared within the previous 5 days. These new tax rules don't make it easy for folk! Mind you it's NMP. My responsibility for it ended when it drove away from my house.

I haven't been very well lately, had a big crash between Xmas and new year. I haven't been out in the Leon yet so no idea anything about it yet.
