Mine went to Waitrose and back this morning and performed absolutely faultlessly in every department so normal service for both of ours may not be resuming any time soon  [-o<

I love my Activa :P 8-)

That's despite all its little foibles - If I wanted something without them I'd have got a C1.

Does it ever go... It goes like a whole herd of scalded cats

Enjoyed myself immensely. Makes my very standard Activa feel very flat indeed...

Fixed that for you ;)

In all seriousness the power delivery is so different to a V6 I certainly won't be slinging an ES9 in there anytime soon.

I also agree, but as there are currently 11736 members on the forum, and there were only 798 Activas in the country, there aren't enough to go round (dammit!)

So someone needs to make 11000 more activas then. A mix of 2.0 turbo, 3.0v6 and for us derv fans could drop in the 2.2 twin turbo 173 into some. :-D

I can't really. Lost for words as it takes your breath away...

Power delivery is a bit interesting. A short delay whilst the turbo wakes up and then WHAMMMMM in the back and you're off 8-) :P

The V6 delivers power in a refined way. Like a faithful old manservant serving it on a silver platter whereas Chris's turbo shoves it in your face like a horseshoe in a velvet boxing glove...

As I have said, the end result is a lot of fun...

I don't think that a V6 is suited to any sporty car. That, of course, is my opinion. A GT car, yes, absolutely, but for something raucous and fun I'd rather have a turbo-4 any time.

I think you’ll be waiting a long time and be prepared to join the queue that'll form

Seriously it is good and has the ability to seriously upset owners of newer and more expensive performance cars. That just adds to the fun

Sounds like a drag race between Chris's boosted Activa TCT and David's Activa V6 at the next Citroen meet is required to settle this debate!

Well, I don't know who would win (it would depend on the circuit, etc.), but I will bet that they both would have a LOT of fun!

And that is exactly the point of an Activa.

Like David, I know both engines well and I certainly wouldn't say that my TCT is better than an ES9 BUT I also wouldn't say that an ES9 is better than what I've got. They deliver the power very differently and it is a case of horses for courses....

I do certainly agree that much fun would be had!

However, like Chris. I've driven the TCT in the Activa in standard guise and in fettled guise, but nowhere near as fettled as Chris' Activa is. I've also driven the ES9 in the 406, 407, XM, Xantia and now my Activa.

They are very different and the power delivery is very different. I like the V6 because it is so smooth but the TCT did give more of a poke in your lower back when it came on boost.

It's very much horses for courses and is entirely down to owners preference.

If we did ever happen to stumble onto a track at a Citroen Car Club meet then I'd certainly be up for finding out which is quicker. :)
