Cassy now has two new Michelin energy tyres on her front wheels... which are still in Jenny's boot.
I've got a plan.
Jenny needs new strut tops, the rubber's peeled off a bit and the metal is starting to flake.
Cassy, to my knowledge has good strut tops, and she's currenlt got her nose in the air on axle stands with the wheels off.
I'm thinking of buying Cassy new strut tops, which will give me the oppertunity to really check hers, and if they are indeed good, put them on Jenny.
If they're bad, well they needed changing then anyway.
Also, I can make a start on putting her nose back to dark blue in preperation for nabbing a dark blue wing and maybe door from the scrap yard later in the week.

Thanks to Jim for letting me know, it appears a comment I made on the BBC news site regarding fuel costs has been posted (in heavily edited form).

Poppped on earlier today and had a PM from Jim about some disc shields for Jenny's back wheels.
So I invited him over as Kate was up and we were planning on returning Cassy's nose back to deep blue.
I'd been to the scrappy on Friday and picked up a wing and parcel shelf for £15.
With Jim helping, the job took no time at all.
I also replaced Cassy's front brake pads (only dropped a caliper on my thumb once *ouch*), and lubed her struts.
Bought some lithium spray grease from Halfords a while back, and gave a long spray on the struts, hopefully creating a resevoir of lube so will see how it goes.
So Cassy is done for now.
Jenny needs her new front discs and pads fitting, oil change, new airbox and filter, swap out the spare wheel cradle hook.
Then there's the strut tops to sort out

Had a phone call from the local stealers and Cassy's strut tops (or "sphere brackets" as they call them - which confused Louise in parts) have arrived.
So if the weather is good tomorrow and I finish work on time, I'll be fitting them.
Fingers crossed her current ones are in good nick, as they'll be going on Jenny.

Popped over to the local stealers to pick up the new strut tops, and one was for hydractive.
So they're ordering the right one for me to pick up tomorrow, and with the price difference, I also picked up a top right cam cover and some bulbs for the heater display.
Off round to Jim's tonight to swap Jenny's misbehaving injector, and then up early tomorrow to take a friend down to heathrow for him to catch a plane to Hong Kong before his visa runs out (again).

Popped round to Jim's this evening to swap out an injector with a faulty needle lift sensor.
Managed to get the old one out this time round thanks to an ingeneous new tool Jim had made up at work
Jenny's ECU is now able to adjust the pump's timing properly, and she's much more responsive, nearly as good as Cassy
Eagle-eye Jim spotted that the aux belt was half off the hydrolic pump!
It's long bolt, which you insert through the pulley's holes, wasn't being retained by a nut on the other end, so was rubbing against the inside of the pulley.
Found a suitable nut and now the belt and pump are secure.

Jim has a theory about Citroen owners being jolly nice people, and you know, I've not met a bad one!
Earlier today I popped up to Chesterfield and met James and his dad (I presume that was your dad James!) oh and the best dog ever
Assuming it passess it's MoT, I'll be taking his 1.9TD estate off him on Saturday.
So my plan to take over the street with Xantias is slowly coming to fruition! mwhahahahaha!
*cough*
Anyway, he very kindly replaced one of the bushes on the N/S wishbone, which turned out to be a pig of a job, and for which I will be eternally grateful!

Yes, maybe not totally but it just needs some driving to free it completely.
It was very dry and quite rusty under there.
The car drives well though, especially now with new front sphere's.
The acc sphere is going to need your tool Jim as mine just bent on it like with your Activa sphere's (so now I really do need to make myself a new tool).
Don't suppose Dad's Taxi is free on Saturday morning?
