Danielle and I have just gotten back from a weekend away in sunny Essex (Braintree and Chelmsford).
Cassy was a dream to drive as usual, although her front tyres are due for replacement soon (has it been 3 months already?).
I need to pop round to Jim's and find out which of her ABS sensors is playing up.
Her rear heater isn't coming on, and one of the brake pad wear sensor wires has chafed and is sometimes making slight contact.
Need to concentrate on Jenny this week though, need to get her MoT'd and taxed.

You need to go to specsavers Kev, I've had that LX for about 9 months now I reckon.red_dwarfers wrote:Xac, just reading your signature and noticed an 'extra' 1.9 TD LX Estate. Is this a recent addition or have I just been blind![]()
I think a group photo is in order
It's currently sorn at a friend's house but has to be moved ASAP.
A group photo may be possible as Danielle has space for 4 cars next to her house.
Jenny's over there at the moment, about to go sorn tomorrow until I can do a couple of small jobs and get her MoT'd.
Juliet is worrying me.
There's a fine mist sometimes coming from her vents, even with the heater off.
Now I have no sense of smell, so I borrowed Danielle's nose and asked the dreaded question "Does that smell of curry or cat pee?"
Her answer was a tad worrying, she said it smelt aromatic but a bit burny like a struck match, somewhat spicey but not very strong.

Don't you just hate crunching sounds?
Just been to town to pay the rent, gave up after standing in the queue for 10 minutes without moving so I'll have to go back tomorrow.
I parked up in Cassy on the end of the row, next to a concrete flower bed, about knee height.
As I pulled out, another car came across me to nip into the space next to me, I turned left too soon and was greeted by a crunch and a car shake.
I'd caught Cassy's rear passenger door on the flower bed.
The plastic strip did it's job though, and popped off without causing any damage.
Unfortunately, down at shin height, the flower bed sits on a plinth or something, and that dented along the bottom of the door.
I was going to pop on and ask if anyone was breaking a dark blue estate, and then I remembered I had the LX, sitting idle on a mate's drive that has to be moved off.
I'd been discussing with Jim what to do about it, and I guess I now know.
I'll brake it for the parts I need, sell any I don't and scrap the rest.

Oh Xac,
That's a crying shame but at least, the LX has found a use.. As always, if I can be of any assistance in repairs...
I really do feel your pain on this
Was it a Vauxhall by any chance?
Must be the day for dark blue Xantias to have incidents in car parks. I parked mine at work today in a bay, very tidily. This particular bay is for us environmentally friendly types who car share
and is next to a more-or less car-sized hatched-off area that is strictly no parking.
Not so if you drive a scruffy old white Vauxhall Ashtray. Said Vauxhall has parked exactly 6 inches from my car and has marked my door strip in getting out
The white Vauxhall looks as if the driver just abandoned it and took absolutely no care whatsoever in parking.
It makes me so angry. Bloody Vauxhalls. Automotive white goods driven by people who don't give a toss
Once, many years ago when I was nowhere near as calm and tolerant as I am these days, and I hate to admit this, someone did a similar thing and I gave the offending car a mighty kick and left a very considerable dent in his door. I still feel bad about that
In my defence M'lud, I was struggling with life a bit along that time...
Good job it was my scruffy V6 and not my Activa I brought to work today or I may well have been minded to set about the offensive little Vauxhall with a sledgehammer....
EDIT: Please, don't take offence if you drive a Vauxhall as it's really 99.9% tongue-in-cheek but one thing that annoys me to distraction are people who take no care in parking and seem to think there is no need to do so

I feel exactly the same Jim and probably retaliated like you did more than once. I do know the last time I returned to my car and found the next car's door edge against mine with the driver jigging around in his seat, it caused a sawing effect up and down my car so as I got alongside I slammed his door shut on him (actually hoping he had an extended leg/arm/head! sticking out) and when I looked back at him, well glared at him, he had to ask, "what?"CitroJim wrote:EDIT: Please, don't take offence if you drive a Vauxhall as it's really 99.9% tongue-in-cheek but one thing that annoys me to distraction are people who take no care in parking and seem to think there is no need to do so

Ignorance, carelessness, indifference, it's the person not the car they drive.

I agree with all that has been said so far and my sympathies are with you Xac, Jim and Sid
My pet hate is the way people will park and whilst not actually using the whole of 2 parking bays they render the other unusable
Now if i was a car park attendant then i would slap a charge of parking and not displaying a ticket for both bays as in effect thats what they have done
Also if you cant park within the length/width of the parking bay you get an extra ticket for being ....................better stop now

Have swapped over the dented door for a good one from the LX.
Took me a few hours but now I've done it, I'm definitely going to swap both doors on the other side.
Cassy's driver's door has lost most of it's laquer along the top, and the back door has been keyed by some oik.
I'll probably also swap her driver's wing, as that too has some scratches and I think the LX might be a better match of dark blue, and seeing as I'm probably going to swap the bumper over too.
