More Mon'Deo pictures alert!
I spent a bit of time today on the interior. It wasnt cleaned very well by the valeters, so out came the paint brush, interior cleaner, vinyl and rubber care and leather care, all Autoglym stuff. The plastics were properly cleaned, then vinyl and rubber care applied to all surfaces, allowed to dry, then buffed with a lint free cloth. Then all the nooks and crannies were dusted out with the vacuum, as was the rest of the car.
I applied Leather Care to the seats, again allowed to dry a bit, then buffed with a cloth.
Really pleased with the result, its come up like new.
The outside just got a wash. I've not yet had time to polish it. The front bumper corners have been repaired and repainted though.
The wheels need refurbishing, which will have to be done by someone else, as i cannot diamond cut the faces.
Note also the HID's which are very worthwhile.

Couldn`t take my eyes off that building too. I`m always interested in brick
Sad old place. When you think of the drugs that are available now and the poor people who must have suffered in those places with really no help at all............apart from shock treatment?

Small update!
Wheels refurbished now.
They were diamond cut, but looked so scruffy i had to do something, so they are bright silver with flake effect for now.
I've fitted a K&N 57i kit which has made a difference to torque, much better between the gears, and makes a rawsome noise too! Was 2nd hand off ebay and looked like new. £100 is expensive for just a filter and an adaptor pipe for the MAF so i paid half that.
I've fabricated a shroud from 3mm black plastic, cut and shaped to stop it sucking in hot air at low speeds. Beneath the filter is the original airbox lower half which has 2 cold air feeds, so once moving it gets plenty of cold air.
Even standard air boxes suffer from heat soak, but i went for this solution as i didnt want a filter in the bumper, which is a common mod done with a Pipercross VIS, because of the risk of sucking water up. The K&N has a nice bellmouth entry, helping smooth the airflow and making it less turbulent. It makes quite a difference over the original airbox.
It sounds and goes a bit like this -
1st and 2nd gear have a torque limiter, it really flies when in 3rd gear and pulls like a train from idle speed.
Overall i am very happy with it. I do miss the Activa, but made the right choice!

My final update on FCF.
Mondeo is going very well, it was rolling roaded at 240bhp last week.
We have moved house, and its taking up a lot of my time decorating and getting ready for our next arrival. 20 week scan shows we are having a baby girl, so thats it, no more!
Work has been pretty much non-stop since Feb and shows no signs of letting up, so i am continuing to get as much done as i can physically do before the baby gets here.
So thats, it, i am signing out, i will most likely visit but wont post.
Thanks for everyone's help over the years, you know who you are!
Gareth

Congratulations on your baby girl Gareth
It will be a shame to lose a regular FCF contributor, but seems all is going well for you
Good luck, Chris.
