a Bag with Eolys in it Jim.....DOH !
used for filling the DPF Fluid (Eolys) tank. Was supplied in bottles but now an updated system is supplied in an "exchange the bag" system.

Re: Confessions of a Citroholic
Got the new bag fitted as per the thread in Citroen forum; old one turned out to be leaking. Got the codes reset for putting the new bag in, so the light is off; and it reports the bag full. I also managed to change the code for the replacement injector, which has substantially reduced the injection rattle at low revs - not as good as it used to be; but vastly improved.
When doing the brakes, the rear slides were not too bad, but the pedal remains a bit long, so I think the fronts must be sticking a bit - not really surprising, I haven't had them out since I fitted them, which must be >30k ago! Then I was looking at it today and spied a few grease spots on the wheelarch liner on the NSF - and, yep, a check under shows that the CV joint outer clip has broken - so looks like some attention on the front next weekend!!
And the 307 still needs its cambelt doing....

Good news on the Eolys bag Richard and good to see the car is keeping you busy in other ways too...
Hope the CV joint clip is just an easy reattachment job...

Re: Confessions of a Citroholic
New clip fitted - the boot is fine; just the old clip snapped off. The Clic pliers are just right for squeezing up the sticky up bit to tighten the clamp up! Filthy horrible job though....
Got the brakes on and off on the NS- not too bad, but the discs have deffo had it - OK for a few more 000 miles though. Then onto the OS - but I can't shift the bottom caliper slide bolt - these are 7mm allen, but I broke my 3/8 drive allen key doing a suspension strut, and a normal key doesn't give enough access / leverage. Off to buy a new allen 'key' to replace the broken one, and see if I can persuade it out; otherwise it will be off the garage so that can get it on the ramp and get a decent run at the bolt from underneath while swinging on it standing up rather than me struggling on the floor with arms wrapped around the hub!

Hope the new Allen soon shifts the reluctant 7mm Richard...

Re: Confessions of a Citroholic
Cheers Jim, new allen key bought, and I picked up a new breaker bar whilst I was there, with a proper hinged head - the one I've got is a cheapo one with *plenty* of slop in it. So it will either get the bolt out, or it will get wrecked!! They're a bit odd the brakes on these - the caliper is not actually bolted on, the bolt is a stainless affair and is shoulderless (hence the allen fitting) so the caliper just floats on it; there appears to be a PTFE bush in the caliper to make it slide - I rather suspect the stiction is in this slide rather than the actual thread. The head of the 'bolt' is kept inside a rubber tube with a plastic end cap, so at least it's not full of crap!! I think if it won't come out then it should be possible to unscrew the caliper bracket bolts and lift the whole thing off; then with the pads out of the way (although the inner pad is clipped into the piston!) the caliper should slide off the bracket leaving the pin exposed which can then be attacked in the vice, with heat as necessary. Or taken to the garage

Re: Confessions of a Citroholic
Sorted! Extra leverage fetched it out - it was tight though! All greased up and back together, brakes seem sharper. Or maybe I am imagining it!

Re: Confessions of a Citroholic
Now I find that one of the (relatively new) rear tyres on the 307 has got a hole in it - only leaking slowly, what ever it was must just have pierced the tyre, well in from the edge so should be repairable - off at the weekend to get it looked at
